Albuquerque attorney, Ashley Strauss-Martin  has focused on real estate law exclusively since 2002. She is General Counsel for the New Mexico Association of REALTORS® and has more than 24 years experience practicing law in New Mexico.

Originally from Clearwater Beach, FL, Ashley moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1976 and lived between Santa Fe and Clearwater Beach from 1976 until 1990. After graduating from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Ashley moved to Santa Fe full-time and attended law school at the University of New Mexico, graduating in 1996. 
 

Ashley's early practice involved real estate, but was mostly focused on litigation - representing plaintiffs in civil cases and defendants in criminal matters. She also served as special prosecutor for the Pueblo of Pojoaque from 1997 to 1999. In 2002, she began focusing more exclusively on real estate transactional work, and in 2007, she took over as General Counsel for the New Mexico Association of REALTORS® (NMAR). She continues to serve as NMAR's General Counsel, providing the Association and its 7500 members with her expertise in real estate law and related matters .

 

In 2016, Ashley acquired Real Estate Law Associates, a  boutique  practice that focuses on the drafting of seller financing instruments for title companies, buyers and sellers, and assists sellers if/when buyers default on their real estate contracts.
